Paisley Painting

I feel like it has been forever since I have Blogged! I've been so bogged down at work.  The Summer should be my Down Time to prepare for Recruitments that will start in August.  Instead I've been stuck in Trainings...training after training after training.  And Since they have taken up the whole work day, I come home and am then forced to answer all my emails and do my actual work work!

Luckily I've had a craft project to use as a bit of a Life Detoxifier...

Zach's Sister...My Sister-in-law...I avoid saying that because it makes me feel old...Is starting Medical School in Memphis in a few short weeks!  As a belated Birthday present Zach's youngest sister suggested that I do a Painting to match her new Bedroom...So I did!  I'm actually super excited about how it turned out.  I focused in on the Paisley design of the Bedding and then used the stylized flowers and leaves to accent in the corners. Usually for pieces like this I use my tracing technique, but I actually free-handed this one.  What I really think set off the painting though was the bright Silver background, that has almost a mirror quality and really poped the blues and greens!

It is utterly amazing to me what a Stress Reliever Painting is for me.  Its been a bad week, but I actually looked forward to heading home, finishing up my work and sitting down to paint.  I need to have more craft projects in motion...any ideas???  I don't have many ideas for my own home, since every wall is practically covered, but if your interested for your own home / dorm room / sorority stuff, Let me know!
