Steam...

Well Tropical Storm Bonnie has passed, and the only footprint she left behind was a pretty hellacious thunderstorm last night.  But all of yesterday it never rained, which of course ticked me off because we could have gone down to Grand Isle for the Island Aid Festival - 10,000 other people did and had a great time.  Instead we stayed holed up in our apartment.  At one point we attempted a walk, but were both drenched with sweat before we even got to Audubon Park.  People warned us that the Summers in New Orleans were miserable, but I never really believed them.  I mean, it gets hot in Atlanta, in Knoxville and in Memphis during the Summer, and I've survived those...New Orleans couldn't be much worse...but it is.

Its gotten a bit aggravating, waking up, showering, putting on my make up, doing my hair, and dawning my professional duds, only to sweat through them before I get to Work everyday.  But what is worse than the heat? Is the steam...oh the Steam.  My naturally wavy hair has been in ringlets - and there is no use trying to fight it.  No anti-fizzy shampoo or cream, amount of blow outs, or time flat ironing my hair will keep my "Do" straight - I'm waving my White Flag to the Summer and its steamy heat.
