Tulane Football!

Yesterday was a very Football-Full Day! We woke up bright and early and headed to watch the Georgia Tech Game at Cooter Browns...Tech lost, but we had a great time watching the game, and I actually found something on the menu at Cooter Browns that I like, like actually enjoy eating, The Cooter Dog! It has Chili and Cheese and Fantastic Sour Kraut on top!

After the Tech game, we walked back to the apartment, changed out of our White and Gold and into our Green, to watch the Tulane game!  We Streetcarred it into the city, stopped by the New Orleans Seafood Festival for a little bit, then went to Gordon Biersch to pregame the Tulane vs. Ole Miss game with a bunch of Ole Miss fans.  Once we had had a couple of rounds it was time to head to the Super Dome!

This was not only the first Tulane Game I had been to but also my first time in the Dome! And I have to say that I am a bit jealous...it was hard not to think about how my own College Football Experience would have been different watching games in a Dome, where weather doesn't matter (ie. no rain, no humidity, no cold, always air conditioned) and where you can buy alcohol.  Yes, beer and liquor sold at a College Game...and they didn't card - not that it mattered for me, but as an undergrad, that would have been a pretty sweet deal! All those times smuggling Rum into Clemson Games disguised as a bottle of water...oh the memories!

Well Tulane Lost (as did all of Zach's Teams this weekend...Tech, Tennessee, Tulane and the Colts) but we did have a good time not watching the game and we made a great connection with Tulane's Athletic Director and his family (especially his adorable little girls Alex and Caroline) who were sitting in front of us at the game (these games are so ill-attended it doesn't matter where you sit, so we made ourselves comfortable 10 rows up on the 50 yard line!)  I gave them my card...maybe I can score a babysitting gig out of it...or more, a connection inside the University would be a good one to have!

  1. Correction: Your first game in the Superdome was the 1986 Sugar Bowl when Tennessee killed Miami. You were "in utero" however.
