On our way back to New York after the wedding in Philadelphia we had a little time and decided to swing through Hoboken, NJ to Carlos Bakery!
I had read horror stories of 3+ hour long lines to get in...I knew we didn't have that much time so I hoped for the best!
Luckily we only had to wait a little over an hour...but it was well worth it! Also while we were waiting Zach and I took turns embracing the wander a little bit around Hoboken, which is a quaint little town, even though it is just across the river from NYC.
The line outside controls how crowded the inside of the store is...but it was still a mad house. Once you are able to cross into the story and out of the line you are given a number. You have until your number is called to squeeze through and scope what you want...
Everything in the store looks to die for...but knowing we were going to have to travel with what ever we bought we were pretty conservative in our purchases!
While Carlos is known for their Cakes, because of the TLC show Cake Boss, they were a little pricey ($50 for an 8inch cake) so we opted for some of their delicious baked goods instead!
We went with a Cannoli and a Lobster Tail for each of us...the Lobster Tails were so crispy and flaky filled with a divine cream inside, the Cannolis were equally fantastic and had a great nutmegy taste in addition to the chocolate chips! I glad we were able to make the detour, because the sweets made the plane ride home so much better!
