Sick of Pizza, Sick of Chinese, and Saving for our trip to NYC...last night we wanted to go out to dinner, and after a whole day at the Girl Scouts Bullying Conference (I had to be up at 5:45!) I wanted it to be quick, easy and close.
We went to Cowbell, a new (well new to us) Burger/Southwest~Americana Restaurant at Oak Street and the Levee...it was both quick, easy, close, and surprisingly fantastic.
Cowbell is in an old service station turned kitchy diner...it isn't modern...it isn't 60's...but an interesting mix of the two! There is indoor and outdoor seating at big tables made of old doors, we were seated with another couple but the proximity wasn't uncomfortable. Its a fun spot with good food and a casual atmosphere!
Zach and I both stuck with Burgers, even though the restaurant does feature other dishes (Tacos, Steak, Chicken, Grilled Cheese). Zach had the Burger topped with Bacon Cheese and a fried egg! I went with the Zinfandel, Onion and Bacon Compote topped burger - which was GREAT! Their fries were crispy - handcut and double fried! Cowbell also makes its own ketchup (which tastes more like a sundried tomato vinaigrette) and Agogo Sauce (a spicy Thousand Island style sauce) which went great with my burger and fries! Cowbell is a definite to return to!
