Saturday night Zach and I met up with Scott and Noel at the Old New Orleans Rum Distillery for the Summer RUMble benefitting the New Orleans Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
I always hear about events at the Distillery, but this was my first time going! The Distillery definitely has good Space for an event, mixing and mingling among the aging barrels of Rum, that you can smell the moment you walk in the door! The only downfall was that the Rum has to age at a certian temperature which is a little hot...it made the event very hot and stuffy dispite the fact that they had tons of fans going...
Anyways the event was alot of fun. It was a competition to see which of the participating restaurants had the best Summery Signature Cocktail made with Old New Orleans Rum. There was a Watermelon Mojito, Hurricane, Rummy Margarita, Frozen Pina Coladas, Ginger Beer Mule and several other drinks in addition to Rummy Desserts too!
Yet again, I have to say, these benefit events are THE best bang for your buck for a fun night out...Your Drinks, Food and Music are all included and in this case, for $20 a person? That's alot more than my Bar Tab would have been on a Saturday night!
