On the 4th, after the Fireworks show on the Riverfront, we wandered our way down into the French Quarter to get dinner at Yo Mammas, some of Zach's Law School friends had been there before, but this was our first time! If I had been asked before, what the best Burger Joint in the Quarter is, I would have immediately answered Port of Call, but now I'm not so sure!
Yo Mamma's has a much wider selection of Food and more specialty burgers than Port of Call. I had the Peanut Butter Burger. I know what you're thinking, gross right? Peanut Butter on a Burger? But I'm not going to lie, I really liked it! You had your standard burger topped with a smear of peanut butter and then bacon bits! It's a little out there, which is honestly why I ordered it, but really great! Nutty, Salty and a little sweet. Paired with a side of their Spicy Potato Salad that had Fresh Jalapenos chopped up in it...I was super impressed with Yo Mammas.
Zach opted for the Bull Fighter Burger, the restaurant's spiciest, topped with Avocado, Jalapenos and Salsa...it kinda made my nose burn! but Zach loved it! Yo Mammas is a must return to, and since its located just across St. Peter from the Side entrance to Pat O'Briens, a place I foresee frequenting late night. Plus they have the cheapest beer I've seen in the Quarter, their "Big Beer", 32 oz, is only $4.50, which is ridiculously cheap for the Quarter. Many times you'll even see bottles of Bud Lite for $5, so the "Big Beer" is a steal!
