My Birthday at August!

Zach and I finally had an opportunity to Celebrate my Birthday this weekend with Dinner at Chef John Besh's Restaurant August!

We went for the first time when my Mom was here in May, and since then it continues to be my favorite restaurant in town!

Yet again we had an amazing dinner, but I was a little disappointed that the menu hadn't really changed since we were there in May...A restaurant of this caliber I would have anticipated that we would have have a unique menu each time...

Not that it bothered me too much, I had the exact same thing I had before and loved it just as much! I started with the Crab and Truffle Gnocchi, then had the Duck with Foie Gras and Strawberry Preserves, and finally for dessert I had the Napoleon with salted toffee that might be the most amazing thing I've ever eaten!

Zach Started with the Pickled Pork Belly, then the filet and finished with the "Snowball".

Snowballs are a New Orleans tradition, but Besh's wasn't like the real thing...it was more of a conceptual Snowball - a brownie topped with chocolate ice and condensed milk foam! A Unique twist on an old favorite!

After dinner we went to see "The Help" at the new Canal Place Theatre, my review to come, but it was the perfect way to end my Birthday celebration!
